Christian, Allen, and I are all super excited to announce that we are expecting another baby in May 2013! We made "the big announcement" to our families and friends at the Baez Backyard Birthday Bash on October 13, 2012 when I was 10 weeks along. Allen got a present with a "big brother" shirt and a sonogram picture. He may not have grasped it at that moment, but everyone else did! Everyone there was surprised; we had successfully kept it a secret for weeks until the party. We had a sonogram at 13 weeks to screen for genetic disorders, and we are so blessed to report that there are no concerns at this time. The sonogram doctor, who is not my normal OB, said he was 98% sure it was a girl. Christian did not accept that and continued to believe we didn't know if it was a girl or boy. He really wants a girl, so he didn't want to get excited if it wasn't truly a girl. We had a second sonogram when I was almost 20 weeks and had 2 more confirmations that a little girl is on the way; both were 100% sure. So, it's a girl!!!!! Christian had to go back to work after the appointment, but when I went to pick up Allen, I told him the news. He was not surprised. He had prayed for a baby sister and already knew he would get one. We went to Carter's to buy the first things for baby sister. Allen picked out frilly dresses, pink sparkly shoes, and hairbows. It was so much fun. I know Allen will be a wonderful big brother!! The entire Baez Bunch is thrilled to be expecting "baby sister" soon and can't wait for her to arrive this spring! God has so richly blessed us already!
