On Friday, December 21, 2012, we had a new Christmas experience that I hope becomes a tradition. FUMC Garland held Night in Bethlehem that was a wonderful experience. The entire area was transformed into Bethlehem during Christ's birth. Costumes and decorations were amazing. In the market, each stand had fun activities for the kids that were fairly true to the time: crushing spices, kneading dough to make bread, music and dancing, woodshop, weaving, pottery, painting, etc. Allen had a great time with his Inman cousins, Alyssa, Kayla, and Asher. When it came time to visit baby Jesus, Allen was so sweet! He found coins to give to the baby and put them in the manager in hopes it would be more comfortable for him. When he was leaving, Allen gently kissed baby Jesus on the leg. I was very impressed and thankful for such a great time with the true meaning of Christmas.
