Celebrating Snow & 9 months of our Littlest Love

Today is February 6, 2014, and Juliana is 9 months old!  It’s a Thursday, so I get to be home with the kiddos today.  What a wonderful surprise when we woke up to falling, soft, white snow!  We immediately bundled up and went outside.  Juliana wasn't too sure about it.  It’s really cold, and the snow was hitting her face.  What I think she really wasn't a fan of was being bundled in so many clothes and hats.  Last night her hat would last all of 1 second before she had it off and threw it as far as possible.  Allen, of course, loved it!  It’s hard to believe Juliana is already 9 months old and has developed so much!  Some things about Juliana at 9 months old:

-crawls, everywhere, very quickly
-really wants to be standing and is starting to pull up on anything she can, including our legs and the bathtub
-eats pretty much everything!  Miss Independent really prefers to self-feed (or have Allen feed her), so she is eating lots of finger foods.  Favorites (in order) seem to be: puffs, sweet fruits like bananas and pears, beans, veggies.  She also eats eggs and yogurt.  The only thing we haven’t tried yet is meat and nuts.  She still nurses exclusively.
-figures things out quickly and easily.  Ex. She was pulling all the dvds off the shelf so I put them in the cabinet.  It took her about 5 seconds to open the door and pull them out again.  Ha!
-isn’t sleeping well at all.  I think we’ve taken 2 steps back.  Mommy really needs to get it together in this area.  The last week or so we’ve been up every 2 hours.  The problem is Juliana is smart and persistent – she can outlast me every time.
-Allen and Daddy are already talking about her birthday party.  They think we need bounce houses, a piñata, etc.
-is so beautiful!  Her hair is growing so much that I have to clip it out of her eyes, and she looks so cute.  We still get comments on her beautiful eyes wherever we go!
-can wear most 12 and 18 month clothes
-she talks!!  She says/has said bye, mama, dada, bubu, papa, ba (bath), all done.  She consistently says “du” or “ah du” for all done when we ask her after nursing or eating.
-She will sometimes wave bye-bye and shakes her head yes (especially if we’re asking if she wants one of her favorite foods.)
-She loves slides, rides, and flips!  Woo-hoo!
-laughs when others are laughing and cries if others are crying
-knows what she wants and expects you to get it for her!

We love our beautiful, smart, independent, go-getter so much!!

Update: 9 month doc visit stats: 22lbs, 8 oz (96%) and 28.5 in (84%) and she’s blowing her nose!
