Juliana - 3 months

Our beautiful Juliana is 3 months old today!  I love this age!!  She is all rolls, which makes for great snuggles.  Even her toes are chubby.  Her smiles light up my life, and she shines!  Lots of people are still awed by her blue eyes and all her brunette hair.  We’re reducing the fussing and increasing the smiles and interaction.  Juliana is a talker!  She is very social, interactive, and a bit particular.  She also still sleeps a lot; she’s usually not awake for more than an hour or hour and a half before it’s back down for a nap.  There’s usually one long nap and several short naps each day.  She takes her paci when she’s ready to sleep but not usually other times.  She still likes the swaddle but is much more apt at freeing an arm or two.  She absolutely prefers to be held up over the shoulder or turned out to be a part of the scene.  She’s content in the baby bjorn carrier and in the bumbo.  She doesn’t much care for tummy time, but she tolerates a few minutes at a time and is getting very strong.  She can hold her head up fairly steadily and is close to being able to roll over.  She and big brother Allen still get along great – lots of kisses and snuggles.  She usually eats every 3 ish hours.  She’s had a bottle of expressed milk several times now and doesn’t seem to mind.  She is a quick nurser – sometimes she only takes 5 minutes and is done.  She is obviously getting enough to eat!  If our scale is right, she weighs 15.5 pounds today!!  (That was measured with me holding her and then me without her.  By the way, I’m only 3 pounds up from pre-pregnancy weight, but that is not helping any of my clothes fit!)  She just started sleeping on the lifenest mattress this week, and I’m working very hard to keep her off her head in hopes of preventing and correcting her flat head.  We’ll check in at 4 months to see how she’s doing.  I’m trying to soak in every moment of this amazing time, especially when it’s just her and me together.  I love to hold her, to make her smile, to cuddle, to talk, and to kiss her.  I just can’t get enough!  Neither can brother or daddy!  She is precious, precious love!
