Juliana is 2 months old today! I can’t believe it! It
seems like we’ve been going non-stop since she was born and have been so
blessed with her addition to our family.
In Allen’s words, “we love her soooooo much!” At 2 months:
-
smiles a lot! We can
usually make her smile with funny noises, silly faces, and playing with her
paci.
-
She loves: her paci, swaddle, swing, carseat, car rides, being
out and about, baths, friends and family, fireworks
-
She has a hard time calming down to go to sleep.
-
She’s giggled a few times, but it doesn’t seem to be her
laughing yet. More just giggles in her
sleep, etc.
-
She loved meeting her new friend, Alexis Powell, Caroline’s
daughter. Juliana acted so excited and
was chatting away.
-
Speaking of chatting – during happy, calm times, Juliana has
lots of conversations with us. Soooo
cute!
-
She’s nursing about every 3 hours and seems to be super
healthy – praise God!
-
She is going straight back to sleep at night after waking for
a feeding – not bad at all.
-
She is strong! She
tries to hold her head up, push up from her tummy, and even bear weight on her
legs.
-
She’s been away from Mommy twice – once for a wedding and once
for a haircut. Both times Gigi and
Grandad came to stay with her at home.
-
She tolerates about 1000 kisses from Allen a day! He constantly wants to kiss her! He asks for her as soon as he wakes up and
likes to snuggle as he’s still in bed.
He doesn’t like the other kids at school looking at her or trying to
touch her. He is very protective.
-
Juliana was fussing a lot the night of July 3rd as
she was overtired and couldn’t calm down.
We were at Jill and Rob’s to watch the Sachse fireworks. As the fireworks started, I took her outside
with everyone else, since she wasn’t sleeping anyway. She stopped fussing and watched wide-eyed for the entire show –
about 30 minutes! Allen watched from
inside the trampoline with his cousins and enjoyed them, but wasn’t as
intrigued as Juliana!
7/8/2013 – 9 weeks (2 months, 2 days)
Juliana had her 2 month appointment today with Dr.
Rosen. Allen and Daddy came too. She weighed in at 13lbs 3oz (93%) and was 24
inches long (99%). She gained almost 5
pounds and 3 inches since her 2 week visit!
Dr. Rosen said overall she is healthy.
He is no longer concerned with her eyes. He thinks fussiness at night may be attributed to reflux, so
we’re going to try to prop her bed. His
only concern is that her head is getting flat.
She has to lie on her back to sleep, but we’re going to try to keep her
upright or on her tummy every time she’s awake. He’s going to re-check it at 4 months and maybe discuss a helmet
at that point, if it’s not better. I’m
going to do everything I can in hopes that it is better then. Feeling blessed and thankful for her overall
growth, development, and health!
