Dallas Zoo
On Wednesday of Spring Break, we continued our "staycation" with a trip to the Dallas Zoo and (after a nap) a dinner picnic and park play with Aunt Deana and Nathan. We don't have pictures of the park play, but Allen and Nathan had a great time eating, kicking the soccer ball, climbing on the playground, and running! We do have pictures of the zoo. Allen knew it was scheduled and kept saying, "I wanna go to zoo!" So, when we did, it was very exciting. We decided to get a family annual pass that we hope to use a few times this year. When we bought the pass, they gave Allen a stuffed Koala. I was irriated that we had something to carry before we even got through the gates, but Allen loved it! He held it almost the whole day and slept with it that night. We rode the monorail, explored the Children's zoo, and saw the new Koala exhibit; all of which we had never done before. Allen said his favorite animals were the giraffes, which were really cool because we got to feed them, but really he loved the goats! As soon as he went into the goat gate, he started talking to the goats in a sweet baby voice, "hi goats" and tried to feed them the hay that was on the ground. He told us about one goat, "This is my goat." He followed it around petting, talking, and feeding. When we were later told that the goat's name was "Allen," we finally agreed it must be his goat. Along with the new Koala exhibit was a new bird exhibit. (I can't remember the name of the birds.) Of course, Christian is such a fun and generous Daddy that he bought us nectar so that we could feed the birds. We went into a big bird house, and they landed on us and drank the nectar. We were concerned that Allen would get scared, but he loved it as much as we did. We got some great pictures of us with the birds and Allen's expressions, especially funny is the one on my head. It was another priceless day together as the Baez Bunch!
