Baez Easter Celebration

Easter afternoon was filled with more food, fun, and family! We were pleased to host some of the Baez family at our house for a ham dinner and egg hunt. Nathan and Allen thought it was extra fun to have their own table beside the big table. It rained all morning, but we decided to get a little wet and still have the egg hunt outside. The kids (big and little) had lots of fun with the egg hunt and then discovering all the treats inside the eggs. For Allen, Nathan, and Junior, the eggs were filled with stickers, bouncy balls, raisins, goldfish, small toys, and $2 bills. They also won some Seasame Street books. We are thankful for such a wonderful Easter 2012, and we are thankful for the first Easter when Jesus conquered death for us!

Easter Morning

Before we left for church to celebrate the real reason for Easter, Allen got his Easter basket, which ended up being two baskets and three gift bags. We saved everything we bought for Allen for a special occasion, but that meant a lot of gifts for Easter. As you can see from one of the pictures, Allen was not enthused by his new clothes, but he did love his new shoes. He still doesn't get candy, but he did get lots of books, art supplies, and little toys. He especially liked his glitter glue pens, glow sticks, and magic capsule sponge animals. We didn't get a family picture all dressed up since it was just our little Baez bunch, but Christian and I each got a turn with Allen. Happy Easter! Jesus has risen!

Inman Easter 2012

On Saturday of Easter weekend, we spent time with the Inman family at Gigi and Grandad's. Jill prepped plenty of eggs, and the kids had a fantastic easter egg hunt in the backyard. Since Allen hadn't done any egg-hunting since last year, when he was 18 months old, we weren't sure what he would do. Without any instructions or models, he was egg-hunting with fury! His sweet bigger cousins let him get a head start, but I'm not sure that he needed it after we watched for a minute. He went out the door running and didn't slow down as he threw as many eggs in his basket as he could. When his basket got so full that eggs were falling out when he ran, he had his Daddy help hold it while he finished gathering eggs. After a great dinner and fun egg hunt, we all played and relaxed outside. What a wonderful Easter Saturday!

All Good Things...

We ended spring break with some time with the Baez family. Allen loves hanging out with his Baez cousins, Nathan and Baby Junior! After a heavenly spring break week, we had a little time to rest and recoup before Monday catapulted us back into reality. We couldn't be more thankful for such a fun week together!
