9 months

I'm a week late for Allen's 9 month birthday, but with it being the end of my summer semester, this is the first moment I've had to even think about updating the blog. Allen has changed a TON over the last month! I added a few posts along the way so I wouldn't forget some of the major stuff. Here are some things Allen is doing now and some fun pics:

-30inches long (90%) and 22lbs (75%) Dr. Rosen: "I don't care what anyone tells you, he is not overweight." haha
-loves flipping the light switches
-has fun watching the fireworks and celebrating the 4th
-thinks its so funny to try and poke his paci in my mouth
-loves to eat and take a bath (not as fond of taking naps)
-crawls and pulls up easily on just about anything
-voices discontent and frustration
-loves his new firetruck toy, books, and the playzone (in pics)
-points alot!
-likes to touch my nose
-started really crawling during the world cup finals
-wants to be with us all the time (just the past few days)
-had his first ear infection and medicine
-doesn't like staying still to get his diaper changed
-talking alot but no "real" words yet (possibilities for the first word: mama, dada, nose, nana, done)
-has had lots of fun staying with Gigi, Grandad, Aunt Jill, Aunt Diana, Alyssa, & Kayla
-gets into everything
-had fun with Aunt Sue, Uncle Ellis, and Aunt Judy during their visit to Dallas

I came out of the room and this is what I found! :)

Allen and baby cousin Nathan

Buddies- Allen and Andrew

Why sit when I can stand? (and chew on the side)

I love his feet! Especially when he puts them together right before he takes off :)

A little bit of spoiling with Aunts Sue and Judy

Why nap when I can stand?

9 months

I'm so big!

I should stand instead of sit on the couch.

My beautiful boy!

Sweet smiles even with an ear infection and fever!

Summer fun!

Big Day Part 3

As a continuation of this giant developmental leap, Allen stood up all by himself today! Thanks to Devon and Seth who captured it on video.

2 more

Two more things to add to Allen's accomplishments from yesterday:

1. He used sign language to tell me "all done" at dinner tonight.

2. As I held his hands while he was standing, he took steps.

Wow! He's on developmental overdrive right now. We're having lots of fun with each new step!

Big Day for Allen

Today was such a big day for Allen that I wanted to jot down a few things, so I don't forget. Today Allen:

-slept late (until 8:15, and of course it was Daddy's morning off - on my day off he woke up at 5:55)

- perfected getting from his back or belly up to a sitting position (Ms. Devon found him that way after nap. I found him sitting up and playing instead of napping.)

- almost pulled up by himself

- took a couple of steps to the side as he was standing and holding onto the couch

- asked for what I was eating (watermelon)

- paid attention to his bedtime books

- (according to Christian... put his arms up and said Dada, but it doesn't count as his first word because I didn't hear it... can we really rely on the word of Dada?)

He grew up a LOT in one day!!

(Saturday was also his first time to get to stay up past his bedtime. We watched the Firewheel fireworks show, and he loved them! I wonder if he thinks that's what goes on every night after 8pm?)
